NOTICE! Because tanking is very hard thing to do and writing about it is much harder, this section isn't even closely ready yet. There is much more to come but with the following instructions you may be able to create a party and experience a little with it!

Leading parties and tanking monsters in ZombieMUD is very hard thing to do. You are responsible for the well being of the whole party so you have to do your job well! In this guide I will tell you all that you need to know about tanking and leading a successful party!

Getting started

Supposing you are already in a good tanking guild (anything with more than 600 hitpoints will do!) and have good tanking equipment (notice that the most important thing is to have good weapons, don't bother to take a shield, it will just lessen your hit damage!), all you have to do is to get yourself party members. This may sound easy, but in reality it is very hard thing to do. You have to pick up your party members carefully. Best way to do this is ask for a party in the mud channel, example:

Breath [mud]: w: party, plz!

Then just wait until someone asks you to join their party, tank for them or just wants to hang with you. Accept this request immediately, parties are hard to find and you don't want to waste good partying time. If no one contacts you, just add a few more 'plz'es to your request and ask again in the mud channel until you get a party!

Deciding what to kill

After getting all your members ready, you have to decide which monsters you are going to kill. NOTICE: Do not suggest any monsters by yourself! Accept what ever the others are suggesting and just make a few angry remarks about their choice. This way when things are falling a part, you can always blame the person who made the decision.

Ask your party members to lead you to the monster you are supposed to kill and get ready for the fight of your life!

Killing the monsters

When you are at the monster, you can attack it immediately. Just inform your party members that you are going to attack, this can be done with the party say command (p'). Example:

Breath [party]: goezzz!

Remember that a good leader isn't a tyrant, he must tell the other party members what he is currently doing and what the party is going to do next. This way you will gain the trust of your party members and be a loved party leader.

It is very hard to remember what protection spells you should use for some specific monster, so it is very useful to attack the monster right away and let your party members decide. Also when you are already in a fight, they will find out more quickly what they are supposed to do in the party. (ie. healers will heal, clerics will chant prayers and warlocks drain souls).
