Jarmo Kytölehto is a three-time Finnish Champion, growing up on his family´s farm only a twenty-minute drive from Jyväskylä, centre of the Rally Finland. His start of the career was delayed when he injured his hand in a farm accident. It got well little by little and he started to drive in a car orienteering with VW Beetle. His great car handling is from there. He narrowly missed out on winning FIA Group N Cup in 1992, but showed that he has a potential driver. A strong contender in British Championship 1995-96, taking twice maximum points in Scottish Rally. He has won his class five times in a row in Rally Finland and had a great opportunity in 1998, when he drove Subaru´s second works car in Finland. He crashed on the second stage and could not drive to the top six, which was a big disappointment. In 1998 and 1999 he developed Vauxhall´s Kit Car and in 2000 was driving privately run F2 Hyundai in the British Rally Championships. Nowadays he is driving front car for Harri Rovanperä in WRC events. |
