One of Tony's many attributes since arriving at Elland Road in May 1991 has been his consistent and injury-free form, but that has rather gone by the board during the past couple of seasons. The talented Australian-born English international. who was voted Player of the Year during Leeds' 91/92 Championship season, suffered the worst injury run of his career after a damaged knee was followed by worrying hamstring problems in first one leg and then the other. But the 30-year-old £1.3 million recruit from Chelsea at least topped 25 games for United season 95/96, although he was desperately upset to miss the Coca Cola Cup final. Tony first made his mark with Aston Villa in the mid eighties, making more that 100 appearances for the Midlands club before switching to Chelsea in 1987. In his four years at Stamford Bridge he helped the Blues regain top flight status and scored the winner in the 1990 ZDS Cup final.
