Gundog hobby is an essential part of our every day
life. I breed Gordon Setters under the name Courtier's and my
spouse Jussi breeds German Wirehaired Pointers under the name
Jasulan. Our sweet little girl Emilia was born in August 2001.
Emilia has shown tremendous interest in dogs at very early age. She
always helps mommy and daddy with the dogs.
We breed litters seldom and plan them thoroughly. Our main goal is
to breed Gundogs that are up to
the breed standard both in looks and in working ability. We are very enthusiastic hobbyist; at fall and winter we spent
as much time as possible
in the fields hunting with our dogs. At summer we attend dog shows
here in Finland and abroad.
COURTIER'S
Prefix Courtier's was acknowledged to me in 1996. After a long
search Gordon Setter "Donna" arrived in 1997. At the age of
two years she gave birth to the first Courtier's Gordon litter. At
the early times of my Gundog hobby I've been a member of
The Gundog Association of Satakunta. After several years in the commitee,
I was selected as the president in 2002. This work continued for
three
years.
I've been a member of different
dog show commitees and organized several dog shows. I'm also a
judge's assistant trainee. Same day I'll hopefully become a judge
myself. I've also organized Field Trial Tests for Gundogs and worked
as an official field trial functionary.
I started professinal grooming in
1991. I have customers all around Satakunta and they represents
several dozens of breeds. Later I started my clothing company,
Promaria.
One of my passions has always been
handling dogs in shows. It's intrieging to get out the best from
a dog in a short moment.
Dogs I've handled have won many titles, championships and group-placements.
I've showed dogs from every FCI breed group. I
attended many Junior Handler-competitions as a yongster and succeeded very well. I competed twice in
Finnish Championships.

HISTORY
My dog hobby started, when I was nine years old. I met a Labrador breeder and after that I
have been very active in the dog world.
My first dog was a Labrador "Daniela", which I got from this Labrador kennel.
We trained field work
and obedience. My second dog was a Cocker Spaniel "Sonu" and with her I started my breeding work
in 1995.
In
Memoriam
I got familiar
with Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers in the 90' when I worked in two Finnish
"Toller"-kennels. I attended many European shows like World Dog Show
1991 in Dortmund, Germany and WDS 1992 in Valencia, Spain with them. I have also wrote a breed book
about Tollers, called "Novascotiannoutajat Suomessa"
(Tollers in Finland) with my dear friend Hilkka Mäkitalo.
