Tassu - CH Valleygirl's Tasova |
|

black female
born: 10.10.2002 |
Tassu is from our latest litter, Deniz's second litter. Tassu is a very
nice girl, who has also learned that a cat's place is in our bed. Tassu
has a long coat and quite nice ears, but her tail is a bit short though.
Time will tell if Tassu is
will be a show cat, it is still too early to tell about her show
temperament. She has been once learning show life, and the judge told then
that "she needs a bit practise..." |

Tossu - Valleygirl's Tosya |
 |
|

blue with white female
Born: 10.10.2002 |
Also Tossu is from our latest litter. It is funny how our opinions of the
colours change when you look at the kittens every day. I thought earlier
that the white pattern just don't suit with blue, but now Tossu is so
charming kitten because of those white spots...
Perhaps Tossu is not the best
Turkish angora, she is not as slender as her sisters and her ears are
smaller, but she is very charming kitten. And she has a very nice "angora
like" temperament, perhaps she is even too lively kitten.
But when I write this,
Tossu limps. Both kittens, Tassu and Tossu, did not eat anything else than
raw meat, and they got too little calcium. That caused them so called "paper
bone syndrome". Kittens had to change their diet (now they have learned to
eat canned kitten food). Tassu, who had much more radical effects, is now
totally recovered, but hopefully also Tossu will recover totally.

Tuittu - Valleygirl's Xmas |
|

tortie spotted tabby female
Born: 28.11.1998 |
Tuittu is from Deniz's first litter. She is a real beauty, but
unfortunately she does not like strange cats and so her temperament was
not suitable to cat shows (someone might say that typical torbie...)
But at home Tuittu is if
not a friend of other cats around her, but more or less she respects the
the cats (at least her Deniz-mother) and she is, like an angora should be,
an affectionate, lively cat and purrs loadly and all the time.
She is also a friend of
our guests, likes to be noticed...
Tuittu has shown very
motherly properties to Deniz's youngsters. We were a bit worried how she
would react when she sees the kittens, but after some days Tuittu started
to clean kittens, and she even milked them... Perhaps Tuittu should make
an own litter also. |

Viraton - CH Valleygirl's
Viransehir |
 |
|

black with white male
blood group A (carrier of B)
Born: 28.11.1998 |
Also
Viraton is one of Deniz's offspring, from her first litter. And eventhough
it is not noticed very easily, Viraton has a small white spot between his
back legs.
When Viraton was a kitten,
he was more slender kitten than the others and had a very long tail and
long legs. And even as an adult male, he still is quite slender male. He
started his show career with a nomination, but he did not like travelling
in a car and so we took him perhaps too seldom to cat shows when he should
have been used to it and so his show career ended when he got
Champion-titel. After that he has been in some shows but he does not like
to be handled at all.
Viraton is an
easy-to-handle cat who likes to have humans around him.
Although the pet name
Viraton in finnish means about "worth of nothing" Viraton is a father, so
far only 2 kittens, but perhaps he gets more offspring later.

Deniz - EC Deniz Kedi
ala'turka |
|

black female
blood group A (carrier of B),
HCM & PKD-neg. (4.2002)
Born: 3.11.1996 |
Deniz came to us from
Netherlands, although she is originally from German. When we were asked if
we want Deniz, we just could not say no. Her line is no foreign to finnish
Turkish Angoras and she was the first black Turkish Angora in Finland. We
had also seen Deniz earlier when we fetched Kalle to us.
Deniz was about 1 year old
when she came to us. Deniz's owner had to find a new home for Deniz, as
she had fights with other cats, but Deniz accommodated quite easily to our
home. But she has some scratches in her ears which tells about her earlier
life.
Deniz is a very nicely
behaving show cat, but not only her temperament but she is also otherwise
a beautiful Turkish Angora. So she has been nominated three times, and was
graduated European Champion 12th of January, 2002.
Deniz is a playful cat,
who shows her love to us sometimes even too much, crying behind the doors
when we leave home or trying to conquer our bed from other cats.

red mackerel tabby male
(neuter)
Blood group: A, PKD-neg.
Born: 17.6.1996 |
As there were no suitable males for Sari in Finland, we started to search
a suitable male abroad and thanks for Kalles breeders, who contacted us we
got Kalle to us. Kalle had already been at some cat shows in Holland and
judges had liked him, even in The First World Show of Turkish Cats, where
we saw Kalle at the first time, he was nominated. But his show career was
not as successful in Finland, and only once he was selected Best In
Variety.
When Kalle had his first
cat shows in Finland, he was a surprise for other cat owners, as they had
not seen any coloured Turkish Angoras, but still Kalle was too small and
slender to be a Norwegian Forest Cat or Maine Coon either.
Kalle is a real Turkish
angora from his temperament: very affectionate and playful boy who is a
friend of our females now when he lives with them after neutering.

Sari - IC Valleygirl's Zarif |

tortie spotted tabby female
(spayed)
Blood group A (carrier of B)
PKD-neg.
Born: 1.6.1996
|
Sari is from our first litter
and she was a pleasant surprise when she was born. Both parents of Sari
are white, and FIFe had just accepted also other colour to colours of
Turkish Angora. So we had only few coloured Turkish Angoras in Finland at
that time.
So Sari had an honour to
be our next mother also. When her first litter was born, Sari was still
thought to be a typical Turkish Angora, but nowadays she is too
old-fashioned... so when we planned to have a second litter with Sari, the
reason was her line, which is nowadays quite foreign, Russian line.
Sari was a bit withdrawn
kitten, perhaps she though she is different from the others (other kittens
were white and also mother was white). And even nowadays she likes to be
alone from other cats, but definitely she wants to sleep on our lap or in
our bed. |

Siri - Valleygirl's Zincirli |

|
|

white, blue eyed female
(spayed, deaf)
Born: 1.6.1996 |
Siri was born in our first
litter also. Her body structure is a bit too heavy and she is also deaf,
so she has no offspring, but she is a lovely cat as well. The only problem
is that she has a very loud voice, at least when we try to handle her. Is
is typical that a deaf cat has louder voice, perhaps.

Silva - CH Halleyween Sevmek |
|

white, blue eyed female
(spayed, deaf)
Born: 4.3.1994 |
After Hissu died, we decided
that our future cats will be indoor cats. And we thought that a breed cat
would suit better living indoor life. So we had to find a cat who would be
"our cat". We read about Turkish Angora, that it is an affectionate,
playful and the most important thing, very intelligent cat. We haven't
have have to regret our choise.
Silva will always have a
special place in our hearts, as she showed us how wonderful a cat can be.
She is a very affectionate lap-cat, perhaps because of her deafness.

Lulla - CH Sada Charlotta |

|

white, blue eyed female
(spayed)
blood group A
Born: 28.12.1992
|
Lulla is our eldest, but not
our first Turkish Angora. She came to us at age of 3 years. She
accommodated quickly to live with Vilma and Silva, and even nowadays she
is a "peacemaker" in our house. She takes vets very calmly but even if she
is now more than 10 years old and perhaps a bit fat also, she is still a
playful cat.
When she came to us, she
had a fiance already and soon she also had her litter, which was the first
Valleygirl's litter (Z-litter). Lulla was a very good mother, took care of
her own kittens and also kittens of her own daughter, Sari, a year after
her own litter. And even now she takes care of her "little kitten" Sari
every now and then.

Vilma - our house cat |
|
 |
Our house cat Vilma is
the eldest of our cats, more than 10 years old (born on March 1991), but
still she is like a young adult.
Vilma is a calm, but also
a bit shy cat, so our guests don't normally see her, but she takes very
calmly visits to a vet and manicure and so on. But yes, she tells also her
opinions, but with smaller gestures than our other cats. |

Im Memorian |
 |
|
|
Our first cat Hissu
(1985 - 1994), a real domestic cat (well, perhaps she did not look
like a domestic cat, as she was a blue, long haired house cat) lived both
as a city cat in Helsinki and as a free sole in countryside. Hissu lived
with us almost 8 years, but the freedom caused her death, she was driven
over in the road near our house. We learned that it is not safe to a
cat to go out by themselves, and so all our cats after that are indoor
cats.

Daniska'Snowbody's Home
"Cindy"
18.11.1994 - 27.9.2002
Cindy came to us in spring
1995 from USA. She was extreamly afftectionate cat, who always slept on
our lap and unlike our other cats, she showed her affectionate to all our
guests also.
Cindy's life was full of
illness, at age of 4 she was diagnosed a kidney disease and later also she
diagnoses HCM. But the kidneys caused her death (according to pathology
report indications of chronic infection in the other and acute, purulent
infection in the other kidney could be found).
